Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Site/Civil Project Engineer in our Fairfax, Virginia office to support major public and institutional clients with civil design and land development tasks, including grading, roadway design, stormwater, water and sewer systems, and site construction plans.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and a Virginia PE license, plus proficiency in Civil3D, Microsoft Office and Bluebeam Revu; strong communication and mentoring skills

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering or proven equal experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience directly related to the design and execution of Civil Infrastructure Projects is required.
• PE license in Virginia required
• Experience in the preparation of graphics, exhibits and Site/Civil Construction Plans.
• Strong technical expertise and capabilities in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office and Bluebeam Revu.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparation and coordination of site/civil design elements.
• Works closely with team members and the Project Manager to contribute to successful project delivery.
• Supervises junior staff and manages project workflows.
• Mentors others in the use of Civil3D.
• Prepares construction documents (including plans and specifications); technical reports; engineering analyses; and cost estimates.
• Executes assigned tasks in accordance with all quality control and assurance procedures.
• Confirms compliance with regulatory requirements and design standards.

This position requires experience in civil design/land development activities including: grading, roadway design, storm water management systems design, water distribution and sanitary sewer design, soil erosion & sediment control and utility design. Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $100,000-$143,000 annually in our Fairfax, VA office. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
