Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Site/Civil Staff Engineer in our Fairfax, Virginia office to work on public and institutional projects. The role involves civil design and land development, including grading, roadway design, stormwater systems, water and sewer design, erosion control and utility design.

You will join a growing team delivering site/civil services to public sector clients, mentor junior staff in Civil3D, and contribute to construction documents, analyses, and cost estimates while ensuring

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering or proven equal experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience related to Civil Infrastructure Projects.
• FE is required.
• Experience in graphics, exhibits and Site/Civil Construction Plans.
• Strong skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office and Bluebeam Revu.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate site/civil design elements.
• Collaborate with Project Manager to deliver projects.
• Mentor entry-level staff and interns in Civil3D.
• Prepare construction documents, reports, analyses, and cost estimates.
• Follow QC/QA procedures and ensure design quality.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and design standards.

This position requires experience in civil design/land development activities including: grading, roadway design, storm water management systems design, water distribution and sanitary sewer design, soil erosion & sediment control and utility design. Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparation and coordination of site/civil design elements.
• Works closely with team members and the Project Manager to contribute to successful project delivery.
• Mentors entry-level staff and interns in the use of Civil3D.
• Prepares construction documents (including plans and specifications); technical reports; engineering analyses; and cost estimates.
• Executes assigned tasks in accordance with all quality control and assurance procedures.
• Confirms compliance with regulatory requirements and design standards.

Required Skills & Required Experience

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering or proven equal experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience directly related to the design and execution of Civil Infrastructure Projects is required.
• FE required.
• Experience in the preparation of graphics, exhibits and Site/Civil Construction Plans.
• Strong technical expertise and capabilities in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office and Bluebeam Revu.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $85,000-$109,000 annually in our Fairfax, VA office. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
