Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services in Portland, OR is seeking an Intern/Co-op – Site/Civil Engineering to join our team. This role supports site feasibility studies, field work, technical report preparation, and design of civil infrastructure projects.

You will work with industry leaders on diverse land development projects, gaining hands-on experience across design plans, permitting, and documentation while building professional skills and industry knowledge.

Qualifications

• Student pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering; GPA of 3.0+ preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning, design and permitting of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects.
• Assist with the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans using engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and equipment.
• Use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil, terrain, hydrology, topography, and geologic data for planning and design.
• Support zoning, ordinance and permit assessments, sidewalk estimations, and feasibility analyses based on data.
• Provide field inspection services as needed.
• Apply knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
• Perform other duties as requested.
