Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services in Pittsburgh, PA seeks an Intern – Site/Civil Engineer to assist with site feasibility studies, field work, and design tasks across land development projects.

You will collaborate with industry leaders on a range of assignments, supporting engineering document preparation, data analysis, and calculations, while gaining hands-on experience and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Student actively pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering; GPA of 3.0 or greater preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Travel may be required based on business needs and project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning, design and permitting of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects.
• Assist with preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.
• Analyze soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, topographical and geologic data for planning and design.
• Support zoning, ordinance and permit assessments, sidewalk estimations, feasibility analysis.
• Provide field inspection services as needed.
• Apply engineering knowledge and advanced mathematics.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
• Perform other duties as requested.
