Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL is offering a Site Civil Engineering internship. Interns will assist with plans, designs, and cost estimates for diverse site development projects, using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools.

Applicants should be enrolled in an ABET-accredited civil engineering program and generally be in their sophomore year or higher. Strong communication, analytical skills, and a valid driver's license are required, with on-site work expected.

Qualifications

• Interns must be actively enrolled in an ABET-accredited civil engineering program.
• The ideal candidate will have successfully completed their sophomore year and be actively enrolled in a 4-year college or university.

Responsibilities

• Preparing plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Gathering and/or providing data for the preparation of engineering reports, studies, and permit applications.
• Performing and/or reviewing calculations related to grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and site development.
• Utilizing engineering software packages such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design tools.
• Conducting field investigations and/or site visits to gather information and verify existing conditions.
• Documenting and/or observing construction operations and assisting with construction phase services.
• Performing related duties such as writing memoranda, letters, or general reports; collecting and correlating engineering data; maintaining records; and attending meetings.
