Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Familiarity with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • Interest in roads, earthworks, drainage, and utilities.
  • Ability to obtain Engineering in Training certification within 6 months is desirable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in civil scope related to earthworks, roads, buried services and stormwater drainage.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure quality and timely outcomes.
  • Prepare designs and drawings from specifications for civils, drainage, and utilities.
  • Coordinate with technicians in designing drainage and utilities for municipal projects.
  • Provide support to senior engineers and designers as needed.
  • Conduct site inspections and surveys for project planning and design.
  • Assist in preparing project reports and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards during execution.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.

Hatch is seeking an Site/Civil Engineering Intern. Reporting to theProject Delivery Group, you will support offices globally working from ourHouston, TXoffice location.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Participate in and execute civil scope related to earthworks, roads, buried services, and stormwater drainage for municipal and energy projects
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure quality and timely outcomes
  • Perform assignments related to civils, drainage, and utilities, including the preparation of detailed designs and drawings from specifications
  • Coordinate with other technicians in designing drainage and utilities for municipal, industrial development, and transportation projects
  • Provide support to senior engineers and designers as needed
  • Conduct site inspections and surveys to gather data for project planning and design
  • Assist in the preparation of project reports and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during project execution
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions and problem-solving
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to enhance project outcomes

You bring to the role:

  • Understanding of inter-discipline requirements for the tasks at hand
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling and 2D drafting, training will be provided in 2D and 3D Civil 3D applications
  • Understanding design concept for roads, earthworks, water management and drainage
  • Engineering in Training Certification or the ability to obtain it within 6 months is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in using civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit
  • Basic knowledge of project management principles
