Hatch is seeking an Electrical or Chemical Engineering intern to support instrumentation and control systems across global projects from our Pittsburgh office. You will contribute to design, data collection, and equipment specifications while gaining hands-on PLC, DCS, and HMI exposure.

Ideal candidates are pursuing engineering degrees with a 3.0+ GPA, strong teamwork, and a safety-conscious mindset, with opportunities to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on meaningful projects.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or chemical engineering with interest in controls or computer science.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Previous co-op or internship experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instrumentation and control system design support for maintenance, expansion, and new construction projects.
  • Participate in site evaluations and data collection.
  • Assist in P&ID development and instrument lists.
  • Assist in preparing equipment specs and instrument datasheets.
  • Update motor schematics and instrument drawings.
  • Assist in PLC, DCS, and HMI programming and functional descriptions.
  • Provide on-site construction, commissioning, and startup support.

Hatch is seeking a Controls & Automation Engineering Intern. Reporting to theProject Delivery Group, you will support offices globally working from ourPittsburgh, PAoffice location.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or chemical engineering with an interest in controls or computer science
  • Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Provide Instrumentation and Control System engineering design support to multidiscipline teams on maintenance, expansion, and new construction projects.
  • Participate in site evaluations and data collection
  • Participate in P&ID development and the creation of all associated lists (i.e. instruments lists, etc.)
  • Assist in the preparation of equipment specifications and instrument data sheets
  • Update motor schematics, loop drawings, layout drawings and instrument location drawings
  • Assist in the preparation of PLC, DCS and HMI programming and functional descriptions
  • Provide on-site construction, commissioning, and start-up support
