Job summary

Hatch in Houston, TX is seeking a Civil Designer to join the Project Delivery Group. You will deliver earthworks design, road design for mining, energy, and infrastructure facilities, and create 3D models and drawings while collaborating with Structure, Mechanical, Piping, and Electrical teams.

Requirements include a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma, 5–10 years in similar roles, and proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, InRoads, MicroStation, OpenRoads, ProjectWise and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from an accredited College.
• 5–10 years’ experience in a similar design role for mine sites.
• Strong design software skills with the listed programs.
• Experience with mine site grading, drainage, and earthworks.
• Solid communication and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to work on diverse projects safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• As a Civil Designer, you will be required to provide engineering deliverables and technical support. The main duties and responsibilities as part of this position include:
• Overall earthworks design for diverse projects
• Design access roads for mining, energy, and infrastructure related facilities
• Design/Model drainage and stormwater management systems
• 3D model preparation, and drawings production
• Close collaboration with other disciplines such as Structure, Mechanical, piping, and Electrical

Education, Experience, attributes, and Skills:

• Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from an accredited College
• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role
• Strong design software skills including demonstrated experience with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, InRoads, Microstation, OpenRoads, ProjectWise, Microsoft Office
• Work experience in completing design assignments for Mine sites including site grading, drainage, trenching, earth works, and Linear Infrastructure projects
• Strong communications skills are needed
• Thorough understanding of inter-discipline requirements
• Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions
