Job summary

HDR in New York is seeking a Site/Civil Designer/EIT to join our Building Engineering Services Group. You will support site studies, layout, drainage, and documentation to help design critical infrastructure.

The role emphasizes independent work, collaboration with senior engineers, and opportunities to obtain your EIT through career progression. Local candidates preferred; this is an on-site position supporting dynamic urban projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• EIT certification preferred; without it, the candidate will hold the title of Site Civil Designer and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
• Familiarity with Civil3D is advantageous.
• Local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Engineer with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation and graphic presentation
• Perform overall site layout, grading, utility layout and drainage design
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
• Work independently on specific design tasks, or assist more-senior engineers on larger assignments
• Perform other duties as needed
