Job summary

HDR is a leading engineering firm in Orlando, seeking a civil/site engineer to support site studies, design and permitting efforts. You will work with Senior Engineers on a range of projects, applying standard techniques and delivering clear, well-documented plans.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree and is pursuing an EIT certification, with a proactive, collaborative mindset aligned to HDR's employee-owned culture. Local candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Engineer with site studies, designs, and project documentation.
• Layout and design of site grading, utilities, and drainage.
• Complete assignments using standard techniques and procedures.
• Support project management and coordination with jurisdictions for permits.
• Work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger ones.
• Contribute to project documentation and presentations as needed.
• Collaborate with project team to ensure objectives and timelines are met.
• Undertake additional duties as required.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Engineer with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation, and graphic presentations
• Perform overall site layout, grading, utility layout, and drainage
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring the application of standard techniques and procedures
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
• Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site projects
• Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects
• Assist the project team with project permitting submittal requirements with applicable jurisdictions
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
• Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
• Experience with civil engineering software such as Bentley Concept Station and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil 3D, specialty civil platforms
• Local candidates
