Job summary
Stonefield Engineering & Design is seeking a Design Engineer to join the Site/Civil team in Chicago, IL. This full-time role focuses on site layout, grading, stormwater management, utilities, and related civil design tasks, offering opportunities for growth and hands-on project exposure.
You will contribute to permitting, field inspection, environmental assessments, and preparation of project reports while collaborating with a small-firm culture that values management access and career
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with site/grading design, zoning/site plan permitting, Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and/or technical writing is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design of site layout and grading and stormwater management.
- Utilities.
- Soil erosion and sediment control measures.
- Landscaping.
- Lighting.
- Project Management including zoning and land development permitting, field inspection, hydraulic and hydrologic design and analysis, site plan drafting, environmental impact assessment, and preparation of project report.
