Job summary

Stonefield Engineering & Design is seeking a Project Manager for the Site/Civil team in Chicago, IL. The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and a PE license, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

You will lead site/civil design tasks, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and manage zoning, permitting, and field inspections. Strong communication, organization, and team skills are essential for growth within a dynamic, full-service engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Must be a licensed PE.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with site and grading design, zoning and site plan permitting process.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Ability to work effectively on a team.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and eager for growth.
• Familiarity with Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and/or technical writing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach and train entry-level to mid-level designers and analysts.
• Design site layout, grading, stormwater management, utilities, landscaping, lighting, and soil erosion controls.
• Manage projects, zoning and land development permitting, field inspection, and environmental impact assessment.
• Prepare project reports and site plans.
• Collaborate across disciplines to support civil engineering initiatives.
