Job summary

Gateway Engineers, Inc. seeks a Civil Engineer for our Pittsburgh, PA office. This full-time, in-person role requires an E.I.T. or P.E. license and 4+ years of experience in civil engineering and land development.

You will coordinate projects with clients, contractors, and staff, perform calculations and design, and assist in preparing plans and permit applications. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Requires E.I.T. or P.E. license and 4+ years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar field.
• Experience in land development and grading/earthwork.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, consultants, and staff.
• Perform calculations and design to transform concepts into construction drawings.
• Assist in preparing plans, specs, and permit applications.
• Provide technical information to the Project Manager for specs.
• Visit sites to review conditions.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local codes.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
• Represent the company at meetings and public hearings.

• The Civil Engineer position will coordinate projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants, and firm staff.
• Perform engineering calculations and design using specialized technical skills, experience, and engineering judgement to transform concept designs into construction drawings and technical specifications for public and private projects.
• Assist in the preparation and quality control of plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for projects.
• Provide project specific technical information to the Project Manager for incorporation into the project specifications.
• Visit project sites to review conditions as appropriate.
• Maintain and comply with state, federal, and local rules and codes.
• Maintain positive relationships with both internal and external clients.
• Serve as a representative of the Company at meetings, presentations, and public hearings/reviews relative to assigned projects.
