Job summary

Gateway Engineers, Inc. is a civil engineering consulting firm with offices in Pittsburgh, Butler, and Raleigh, seeking an experienced Civil Engineer for full-time, in-person work. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience, an EIT, and PE preferred, with expertise in wastewater design and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities include design calculations, drafting, permitting, site visits, and client coordination, while maintaining regulatory compliance and professional relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar field is required.
• 10+ years of experience in civil engineering roles.
• Engineer-In-Training license, P.E. preferred; LEED a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants, and firm staff.
• Perform engineering calculations and design to transform concept designs into construction drawings and specifications.
• Assist in preparation and quality control of plans, specifications, and permit applications.
• Provide project-specific technical information to the Project Manager for incorporation into project specs.
• Perform plan drafting using CADD software.
• Visit project sites to review conditions.
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and local rules and codes.
• Maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
• Represent the company at meetings, presentations, and public hearings related to projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and quality control of plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for projects.
• Provide project specific technical information to the Project Manager for incorporation into the project specifications.
• Perform plan drafting using CADD software.
• Visit project sites to review conditions as appropriate.
• Maintain and comply with state, federal, and local rules and codes.
• Maintain positive relationships with both internal and external clients.
• Serve as a representative of the Company at meetings, presentations, and public hearings/reviews relative to assigned projects.
