Job summary

Dow is seeking a Site Analytical Specialist - Plant A in Freeport, Texas to apply analytical chemistry and process knowledge to complex manufacturing and quality challenges. You will develop and implement analytical methods, guide teams, and ensure reliable data to support safe operations and product quality.

You’ll lead projects, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and technical teams while evaluating emerging technologies for improved lab performance and data

Qualifications

• A minimum of an associate degree plus ten years of experience as a Technical Leader in a manufacturing lab environment OR a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field plus five years of relevant experience.
• Project and change Management Experience is preferred.
• Experience in gas chromatography, titrations and/or spectroscopy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply analytical chemistry and process knowledge to investigate and resolve complex manufacturing, product quality, and laboratory challenges.
• Perform complex, hands-on laboratory analyses; interpret results; and translate analytical data into clear recommendations for manufacturing, quality, and technical teams.
• Develop, optimize, validate, document, and implement analytical methods that improve data quality, turnaround time, reliability, and support for plant operations.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize analytical instruments and systems, partnering with vendors and technical experts when needed to restore performance and prevent recurring issues.
• Evaluate incoming analytical support requests, define the technical approach, and prioritize work based on safety, business value, urgency, and alignment with site goals.
• Lead analytical projects from problem definition through implementation, coordinating small teams, milestones, resources, technical decisions, and communication with stakeholders.
