Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking an experienced Site Agent for a major infrastructure project in Somerset. You will own site operations, drive programme delivery and manage multi-disciplinary site teams to meet safety, quality and schedule targets.

The role requires a proven track record in Tier 1 environments, with strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities. An immediate start is available on a flagship scheme with long-term prospects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Agent in civil engineering/infrastructure.
• Experience delivering projects for a Tier 1 contractor.
• Strong leadership and people management for site teams and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of health, safety legislation and industry best practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations on a major infrastructure project.
• Lead site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers for efficient delivery.

• Monitor programme performance and implement corrective actions.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, clients and stakeholders.
• Oversee site documentation, permits, RAMS and compliance.
• Manage resources to achieve programme and budget objectives.
• Support and mentor engineers and site management staff.

Site Agent - Infrastructure

Location: Somerset
Rate: £500+ per day
Contract: Long-Term Contract

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Agent to join a major infrastructure project in Somerset, working for a leading Tier 1 contractor. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a high-profile civil engineering scheme, taking ownership of site operations, programme delivery, and team management.

The successful candidate will have a proven background delivering complex infrastructure projects within a Tier 1 environment and be comfortable managing multidisciplinary site teams while ensuring safety, quality, and programme targets are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day site operations on a major infrastructure project.
• Lead site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Drive health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across the project.
• Monitor programme performance and implement corrective actions where required.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, clients, and key stakeholders.
• Oversee site documentation, permits, RAMS, and compliance requirements.
• Manage resources effectively to achieve programme and budget objectives.

Requirements:

• Proven experience working as a Site Agent within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector.
• Previous experience delivering projects for a Tier 1 contractor.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, including the management of site teams and subcontractors.
• Experience delivering infrastructure schemes such as highways, rail, utilities, water, heavy civil engineering, or major infrastructure projects.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
• Strong programme and stakeholder management capabilities.
