Job summary

The University at Buffalo is seeking an Application Development Analyst II to join Enterprise Application Services’ SIS team. The role blends systems analysis with hands-on development to enhance the Student Information System across campus. Hybrid work is possible.

Responsibilities include gathering requirements, implementing REST API integrations, and collaborating in an Agile environment, while ensuring quality through testing and support of production systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience or master’s degree with 1 year of experience in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or related field.
• Experience researching, analyzing, and documenting requirements and translating them into system solutions.
• Experience troubleshooting and supporting production application systems.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze business and functional requirements from SIS stakeholders and translate into system solutions.
• Support, troubleshoot, and maintain mission-critical SIS applications; respond to enhancements and issues.
• Design, develop, and integrate solutions, including REST API integrations between SIS and other systems.
• Develop and execute test plans including unit, integration, and regression testing.
• Collaborate in an Agile environment to deliver reliable solutions.
• Research platform capabilities and patterns to improve enterprise IT services.
• Communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the lifecycle.
