Job summary

Planate Management Group is seeking a highly skilled Civil/Structural Engineer to serve as Special Inspector of Record (SIOR) on-site at Naval Support Facility Indian Head, MD. You will ensure structural systems comply with design, codes, and industry standards.

As a PE with at least five years of construction inspection experience, you will inspect steel, concrete, masonry, and foundations, prepare detailed reports, and collaborate with contractors and design teams to resolve non-compliance.

Qualifications

• PE license in Civil or Structural engineering is required.
• Minimum five years of construction inspection and structural engineering experience.
• Knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, and foundations is required.
• Experience with nondestructive testing and load-bearing verification is preferred.
• Ability to work independently on-site and manage multiple inspections.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the SIOR for assigned projects.
• Conduct on-site inspections of structural systems per plans and codes.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting observations.
• Collaborate with contractors and engineers to resolve non-compliance issues.
• Stay current with industry standards and best practices.
