Job summary

Planate Management Group is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to serve as the Special Inspector of Record (SIOR) on-site at Naval Support Facility Indian Head, MD. The role focuses on ensuring structural systems meet design specs, codes, and industry standards, with hands-on inspection duties.

The successful candidate will bring a PE license, at least five years of inspection/structural experience, and strong communication skills to coordinate with contractors and project teams.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in construction inspection and structural engineering.
• Knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Special Inspector of Record (SIOR) for assigned projects.
• Conduct on-site inspections of structural construction, welding, NDT, and foundations.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting observations and findings.
• Collaborate with contractors and design engineers to resolve non-compliance issues.
• Stay current on industry standards and best practices in structural engineering.
