Job summary

International Paper in Waxahachie, TX is hiring a Singlefacer Operator for 1st shift (7am–3pm). You will load and align roll stock, thread webs, and manage the splicing process to keep production running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have warehouse or manufacturing experience, can read English, and are capable of lifting up to 50 lbs while following safety procedures such as lock-out/tag-out. Starting pay is $26.33 per hour with sign-on and retention bonuses.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Match roll stock with the scheduled run sheet.
• Remove metal bands from the roll and place in containers.
• Prepare roll, place peel in the proper cart.
• Remove core plugs and discard properly.
• Enter roll in KIWI system and track delivery.
• Operate roll stands and guide rolls into position.
• Thread web into splicer and through machine.
• Prepare roll for splicing into running roll.
• Manage the splicing process.
• Monitor moisture content and temperature of paper.
• Monitor steam shower applied on medium.
• Check and adjust gaps between glue and metering roll.
• Coordinate wet end operators for efficiency.
• Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Wear PPE and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Keep work areas neat and orderly.

The Job You Will Perform

• Matching roll stock with scheduled run sheet


• Removing metal bands from roll and place in proper container


• Preparing roll, placing peel in proper cart


• Removing core plugs and discarding properly


• Retrieving roll tag and entering roll in KIWI system


• Placing roll on to delivery track and entering into respective machine


• Operate roll stands by chucking up roll and guiding roll into the running position


• Threading web into splicer and through machine


• Preparing roll for splicing into “running roll”


• Managing the splicing process


• Monitoring moisture content and temperature of paper


• Monitoring steam shower applied on medium


• Checking and adjusting gap between glue and metering roll


• Checking and adjusting gap between glue and core roll


• Monitoring hydraulic pressure to pressure roll to core roll


• Coordinating wet end operators to ensure efficient operation


• Operate roll stands safely


• Communication of mechanical issues to shift supervisor


• Operator must keep work areas and surrounding areas neat and orderly


• Operator must wear all required personal protective equipment


• Operator must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs. throughout work shift


• Operator must follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.
