Job summary

U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL seeks a hands-on technician to maintain and enhance electro-mechanical simulators and exhibits. You will inspect, repair, and update hardware, software, and networking components while documenting activities and supporting the Simulations team.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electronic and electro-mechanical devices.
• Ability to use the tools, equipment, and materials of this job profession effectively and safely.
• Experience troubleshooting, and inspecting equipment
• Experience with Windows operating systems
• Experience with computer hardware assembly, software programming, computer networking, 3d modeling software, machining, and robotics.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspections of Rocket Center equipment to maintain safe, effective operation and appearance.
• Repair/Modification of Computer Hardware, Software and Networking.
• Document the accurate and timely completion of job activities and leadership requests.
• Systematically design, fabricate, inspect, install, and repair simulators and equipment to maintain performance and safety.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

2-year technical degree in electronics

Software programming languages and related experience
