Job summary

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL seeks a Museum Technician to ensure safe, efficient operation of electronic, electro‑mechanical and computer-driven exhibits and simulators.

The role includes preventative maintenance and exhibit development to enhance guest and staff experiences. Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing simulators (electronics, hydraulics, A/V, PCs), and using CAD tools (Fusion 360), 3D printing, CNC processes, and vacuum forming to implement new items.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2-year technical degree.
• 12–24 months experience as Tech 1 designing, maintaining, and repairing electronic and electro‑mechanical devices.

Responsibilities

• Systematically inspect and repair USSRC simulators and exhibit devices.
• Develop, modify and update interactives and mechanical systems with CAD and fabrication tools.
• Provide simulations technical support and preventative maintenance for exhibits and simulators.
• Meet expectations of Museum Technician Manager for installation, maintenance, and repair tasks.
