Job summary

Normal Computing seeks a Simulator & Debug Tools Lead to own the hardware simulator architecture, behavior, and debugging tooling. You will drive correlation with RTL/FPGA/silicon and develop LLM workload benchmarks to measure fidelity.

The role blends hands-on technical leadership with decisions on where to invest in simulator fidelity and performance, in a dynamic pre-silicon/post-silicon environment.

Qualifications

• Experience building or leading development on hardware simulators for ASICs or novel compute architectures.
• Tooling: debuggers, tracers, or profilers that engineers actually adopted.
• Enough systems and compiler context to simulate the software stack on hardware.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and roadmap of our hardware simulator.
• Ensure simulator behavior, state, and memory semantics are trustworthy.
• Build debuggers, tracers, and profilers used by the team.
• Correlate the simulator with RTL, FPGA prototypes, and silicon.
• Develop workload benchmarks from LLM inference workloads.
• Decide on fidelity, speed, and tooling investments.
