Job summary

Normal Computing seeks a Simulator & Debug Tools Lead to own our hardware simulator and the suite of debugging and profiling tools used by the compiler and hardware teams.

You will partner with design verification, bring-up, RTL/FPGA teams, and silicon validation to ensure fidelity and performance. This hands-on leadership role requires strong experience with cycle-accurate or functional simulators and a systems-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience building or leading development on hardware simulators for ASICs or novel compute architectures.
• Fluency in C++ or Rust; familiarity with Python for tooling.
• Experience integrating simulators with compiler and hardware validation workflows.
• Ability to make tradeoffs between fidelity, speed, and tooling investment.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and roadmap of the hardware simulator, including accuracy and performance.
• Develop debuggers, tracers, and profilers used by the team.
• Partner with design verification, bring-up, RTL, FPGA prototypes, and silicon teams.
• Create workload benchmarks from LLM inference workloads.
