Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in related field is required.
• Minimum of two years related health care work experience in simulation technology/education, general education or IT.
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Teaching experience at community college level desirable.
• Current Texas license and BLS certification required.
• ACLS and/or PALS provider certification preferred.
• Position is limited to 19.5 hours per week.
• Equivalency: two years of health care experience may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of healthcare-related education with simulated experiences and provide debriefing and feedback.
• Prepare manikins, SPs, equipment, and supplies for simulation scenarios per requests.
• Monitor day-to-day activities in the Simulation Center and maintain a safe environment.
• Ensure completion of SE evaluation forms (online or paper) after simulations.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel information and secure labs/offices.
• Assist with use and maintenance of SynDaver manikins and equipment.
• Assist with maintaining oxygen reserves and compressed gas systems.
• Assist with research, data collection, and implementation of new simulation systems including VR.
• Provide tours of health science programs to groups.
• Assist with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and reporting missing/broken items.
