Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Generative Data Engineer to help develop next-generation simulation technology powering a broad range of AI/ML efforts.

You will work on ambitious projects that transform ideas into production tools and datasets used across the organization to support new Apple products. You will collaborate with engineers, technical artists, animators, and researchers to deliver data and tools, impacting scalability and quality of simulation and scenario generation systems across

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong Python programming skills and solid software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience creating 3D data with generative models and coordination with traditional approaches.
• Experience with 3D graphics or game engines (rendering, animation, scene graphs, pipelines).
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners including engineers, artists, and researchers.
• Familiarity with USD and its APIs.

Responsibilities

• Build, enhance, and operate tools and pipelines for generation of 3D assets, scenes, and scenarios from text, images, video, or other sensor data using generative models and procedural techniques.
• Create assets and scenes for offline and/or real-time rendering for various uses.
• Design prototypes, proofs-of-concept, and production systems to expand simulation scenario creation.
• Develop tools, APIs, and reusable components to generate, manage, and automate workflows; integrate with Apple pipelines and related tech.
• Stay current with advances in simulation, rendering, generative models, VLMs, and synthetic data; introduce valuable approaches.
