Job summary

Siemens' Electrification and Automation division offers a Research & Development Simulation Engineering Internship in Raleigh, NC for a 12-week summer program beginning May or June 2027. You will gain hands-on experience supporting power distribution systems and future grid technologies within a collaborative environment.

Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with 3D modeling tool experience (Creo, NX, SolidWorks).

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Experience with 3D modeling tools (Creo, NX, SolidWorks, etc.).
Ability to work on-site full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week summer internship.
Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide relocation support.
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Supporting geometry simplification of standard mechanical assemblies to improve simulation performance and turnaround time.
Simplifying and preparing 3D designs in NX for use in simulation workflows.
Supporting mechanical design activities within NX to enable simulation and analysis efforts.
Collaborating with sensor simulation engineers to support simulation requests and design updates.
Assisting with organization and documentation of simulation-ready models and design files.
