Job summary

Minitab, LLC is seeking a Simulation Consultant to support customers across the engagement lifecycle, delivering training, coaching, and expert modeling using Simul8. You will design and validate DES models, translate results into actionable business insights, and drive client value with high-quality service.

The role emphasizes collaboration across teams, documentation, and ongoing professional development in discrete-event simulation and analytics.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
1+ years of professional/academic DES model development experience.
Experience with discrete-event simulation software; Simul8 preferred, others acceptable.
Understanding of DES modelling principles: conceptualization, data analysis, validation, experimentation.
Experience translating business problems into analytical/simulation solutions.
Proven ability to gather requirements from customers/stakeholders and communicate findings.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data/process focus.
Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, R, SAS, Java, C#).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to travel ~25% to customer/partner sites.
English language proficiency; Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

Support customer engagement lifecycle with training, coaching, consulting, and timely support.
Design, develop, verify, and validate discrete-event simulation models using Simul8 to reflect customer processes.
Evaluate scenarios, identify bottlenecks, assess resources, and support data-driven decisions.
Translate model outputs into clear business insights and actionable recommendations.
Lead model discovery sessions, workshops, and client presentations.
Advise on simulation methodology, model design, experimentation, and effective use of Simul8.
Review and troubleshoot models and provide advanced guidance as needed.
Document model assumptions, inputs, validation, experiments, results, and recommendations.
Develop expertise in discrete-event simulation, Simul8, analytics, and client industries.
