The role focuses on advancing critical thinking and clinical skills through high- and medium-fidelity simulation, while partnering with leadership to ensure safe, effective training across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Education or healthcare field.
• 1-3 years of experience in simulation and skills lab teaching, or combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of the position.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Highly self-directed.
• Exemplary interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with those from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to implement change.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, updates, and monitors simulation lab policies, procedures, use, and operation.
• Develops, presents, evaluates and refines scenarios for simulation experiences, utilizing role playing, props and dialogue to create a realistic learning environment.
• Develops and implements clinical simulation to meet best practice standards with a focus on critical thinking.
• Creates and maintains a respectful and professional working environment, incorporating active learning, reflective thinking, and a confidential debriefing process.
• Performs data analysis to evaluate learning and satisfaction with the provision of services.
• Continuously updates and refines simulation experiences based on identified needs and to serve as a resource for faculty utilizing simulation in classroom/lab activities.
• Maintains the lab inventory, ensures the safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials. Monitors process for use, signing out, and movement of simulation lab equipment.
• Monitors and assures appropriate standards of lab cleanliness, provides for equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement.
• Trains instructors in simulation procedures, location and use of materials, and operation of equipment.
• Responsible for business development of the simulation lab, establishes community partners, develops income generated projects, seeks grants and other funding sources. Responsible for program development and growth.
• Oversees simulation lab information and technology support.
• Formulates budget recommendations.
