Job summary

Holyoke Community College is seeking a Simulation Technician to provide technical and administrative support to the simulation program. The role requires maintenance, programming, troubleshooting and operation of patient simulators, with strong diagnostic and communication skills.

This full-time MCCC unit position offers a Grade 4 salary range of $65,370 to $77,717, 37.5 hours per week, state benefits, and opportunities to work with faculty and students in a dynamic learning center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, computer science, or healthcare field.
• Experience in a lab setting with lab equipment including maintaining, programming, troubleshooting, cleaning and repairing lab equipment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and selected Mac applications.
• Experience with audio visual equipment and technology including production and editing.
• Exhibit strong diagnostic and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
• Ability to work independently and within teams.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Orient students and faculty on equipment in the simulation center and conduct tours as needed.
• Troubleshoot simulators and peripheral equipment and obtain warranty service/on-site repair as appropriate.
• Maintain a database for inventory of supplies and perform inventory checks.
• Maintain the Center as a clean, safe and operational facility following universal precautions and CDC guidelines.
• Manipulate simulator during scenarios; provide on-the-fly troubleshooting and theatrical support as needed.
• Provide faculty assistance in running low-definition and high-definition simulations.
• Maintain records as appropriate.
• Set up and breakdown lab activities based on program needs.
