Job summary

Holyoke Community College seeks a Simulation Technician to provide technical and administrative support to the simulation program. The incumbent will maintain and troubleshoot patient simulators, manage inventory, and assist in running simulations in a collaborative, safety-conscious environment.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to work independently and with teams, and flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in science, computer science, or healthcare field.
• Experience in a lab setting with lab equipment maintenance, programming, troubleshooting, cleaning and repair.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and selected Mac applications.
• Experience with audio visual equipment and technology including production and editing.
• Exhibit strong diagnostic and problem solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in teams.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Orient students and faculty on equipment in the simulation center and conduct tours as needed.
• Troubleshoot simulators and peripheral equipment; arrange warranty service or on-site repair.
• Maintain an inventory database and perform supplies inventory.
• Keep the Center clean, safe, and operational following universal precautions and CDC guidelines.
• Manipulate simulators during scenarios; perform on-the-fly troubleshooting; provide theatrical support as needed.
• Support faculty in running low-definition and high-definition simulations.
• Maintain records as appropriate.
• Set up and breakdown lab activities based on program needs.
