Job summary

San Joaquin Valley College Inc. seeks a Simulation Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operation of the simulation center and oversee equipment, scheduling, and safety. The role collaborates with faculty to plan and implement simulation activities and to develop curricula for allied health programs.

The position requires graduate nursing education, RN licensure in Arizona, BLS, and clinical instruction experience; occasional evenings or weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree with a major in Nursing, if the graduate degree is not nursing, then a minimum of BSN.
• Arizona RN.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• If MSN: A minimum of two years as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
• If BSN : A minimum of three years as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
• At least one year of experience with clinical instruction preferred.
• Proof of Immunizations or titers OR (1) PPD (2) Hep B

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the general operation of the simulation laboratory/center to provide patient simulation experiences.
• Act as the primary contact for scheduling all medical center, university schools, departments, and external clients utilizing the simulation center.
• Coordinate workflow between departments.
• Oversee the regular maintenance and repair of all simulation equipment, including: human patient simulators, equipment, audiovisual and debriefing systems, surgical simulators, VR labs.
• Communicate effectively with manufacturers regarding maintenance, repair updates, and technology changes.
• Provide technical support for task trainers and multimedia peripherals.
• Organize and restock simulation laboratory supplies.
• Oversee setup and takedown of equipment for rapid turnover of simulation lab setup.
• Monitor and prepare laboratory budget.
• Provide recommendations for equipment and supply purchases, anticipating future changes in technology.
• Ensure safety for all users and maintain laboratory to meet regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with faculty from multiple departments to develop simulation experiences and curricula.
• Coordinate the collection of data for ongoing research or grant requirements.
• Maintain learner confidentiality.
• Hire, train, and schedule Standardized Patients.
• Coordinate center tours.
• Coordinate simulation center schedule (OSCE, sim, classroom) and prevent scheduling conflicts.
• Network with other lab/simulation coordinators to adopt best practices.
• Coordinate training for all users of the simulation laboratory.
• Provide orientation to new simulation lab staff and oversee training.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
