Job summary

Success Education Colleges is seeking a Nursing Skills Laboratory Simulation Coordinator to coordinate and manage the college’s skills lab and simulation center in Bakersfield, CA. The role ensures safe, effective use of high, medium, and low fidelity simulation equipment and aligns lab operations with accreditation standards.

The position reports to the Dean of Nursing, works with faculty to plan teaching strategies, and provides resources to master psychomotor and clinical reasoning skills

Qualifications

• Current California Registered Nurse License.
• BSN or higher degree required.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in professional nursing education within the last ten years or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse providing direct patient care.
• Ability to work in a diverse environment.
• Self-directed and innovative.
• Skills in simulation lab management.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, updates, and monitors simulation and skills lab policies, procedures, use and operation.
• Monitors and schedules use, signing out, and movement of lab equipment.
• Coordinates and maintains day-to-day operations of the nursing lab for students and faculty.
• Serves as resource person for faculty and students regarding the nursing lab.
• Prepare skills lab demonstrations and simulated learning activities.
• Provide resources in the skills and simulation lab for mastery of psychomotor and clinical reasoning skills.
• Work with faculty to plan teaching strategies to meet clinical skills requirements.
• Maintain a clean, fully equipped nursing skills and simulation lab.
• Manage room setup and cleanup for demonstrations of clinical procedures.
