Job summary

The Simulation & Immersive Learning Center at Texas A&M University is seeking a part-time Simulated Participant (SP) to support healthcare simulation education by portraying realistic roles such as patients or family members. On-site work is primary, with potential for limited remote telesimulation in the future.

You will work with SP Educators to review case scripts, practice portrayal, and provide learner feedback on communication and clinical interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as standardized patient is asset.
• Comfort with feedback and debriefing.
• Basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Accurately portray assigned roles (e.g., standardized patient or simulated participant) based on case scenarios provided by the center.
• Maintain realism in physical, emotional, and verbal responses to create authentic clinical encounters.
• Provide learner-centered feedback on communication, history-taking, and interpersonal skills from the perspective of the portrayed role.
• Participate in debriefing sessions and complete assessment instruments to evaluate learner performance.
