  • Implements evidence-based teaching strategies appropriate to learner needs, desired learner outcomes, content, and context.
  • Practices skilled oral, written, and electronic communication and conveys ideas effectively in a variety of contexts.
  • Shows enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and nursing that inspires and motivates students.
  • Participates in the School's student success initiatives by assisting students in implementing individualized remediation plans.
  • Provides tutoring in areas identified by students as needing assistance, including care plan development, concept mapping, drug dosage calculations, and medication administration.
  • Identifies individual learning styles and unique learning needs of students.
  • Provides resources to diverse learners that help meet meet their individual learning needs.
  • Models professional behaviors for learners, including involvement in professional organizations, engagement in lifelong learning activities, dissemination of information through publications and presentations, and advocacy.
  • Contributes to curriculum updates based on assessment of program outcomes, learner needs, and societal and health care trends.
  • Exhibits a spirit of inquiry about teaching and learning, student development, evaluation methods, and other aspects of the role.
  • May perform other duties as assigned or directed by management.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Summary

Develops, implements, and evaluates evidence-based activities in the Learning/Simulation Lab in coordination with course faculty. Participates in simulation activities as primary instructor or as technical support to faculty. Demonstrates nursing skills and techniques to students. Uses information technologies skillfully to support the teaching-learning process, including the use of high-fidelity human simulators. Utilizes critical thinking skills to effectively communicate information, observations, and/or activities to appropriate individuals. Recommends additions and deletions to the library. Provides individual and small-group tutoring in the Lab and ongoing feedback to students related to their strengths and weaknesses in the performance of skills. Demonstrates professionalism and sensitivity when interacting with students and peers, tactfully handles challenging interactions, serves as a role model for professional nursing, and adheres to the School's Faculty Code of Conduct.

Education Required

MA or MS in Nursing required.

Additional Education Preferred

Doctorate in Nursing or closely related field (PhD, DNP, or EdD).

Licensure Required

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey.

Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or within 1 year of hire

Additional Licensure Preferred

Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) or Certified Nurse Educator Clinical (CNEcl)

Experience Required

Two (2) years of patient care experience.

Experience Preferred

One (1) year of simulation experience preferred.
