Description

Apple is seeking a Photonics Design Engineer for R&D of integrated photonics devices in sensing applications. Collaborate within an optical science team to develop and demonstrate new photonic components and sensor concepts. Responsibilities include design, simulation, and characterization of silicon photonic components for next-generation integrated circuits.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
• Experience with simulation and modeling of photonic components

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant industry experience
• Master’s or PhD in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
• Deep understanding of optoelectronics, photonics, and semiconductor devices
• Extensive design and modeling experience of passive and active components on SOI platforms and circuit-level simulations
• Proficiency in multiphysics simulations (electromagnetic, thermal, mechanical)
• Hands-on experience in optical measurement and device characterization
• Strong programming skills in Python, Matlab, JMP, or similar
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Pay & Benefits
