Job summary

Advantest America, Inc. is expanding its Silicon Photonics team in the Silicon Valley. The Applications Engineer will design and deliver electrical/optical test solutions on an ATE platform, developing test programs and custom scripts for instrument control.

The candidate should have a BS in electrical/optical engineering or physics, plus experience with optical devices and data analysis tools. Travel up to 25% is expected to support global customers.

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical, optical engineering or physics.
• Product and test engineering experience on an ATE platform or bench environment.
• Statistical data analysis experience with tools like JMP, Galaxy, Excel.
• JAVA and Python experience.
• Experience with optical devices.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into technical solutions; collaborate with R&D and marketing to identify gaps and scope potential solutions.
• Work with customers to transition electro-optical bench solutions into mass production.
• Understand load board schematics; knowledge of dual-sided probe solutions is a plus.
• Knowledge of test sockets and probe cards / probe technologies.
• Test code development in Java and Python.
• Collaborate with engineers across Europe and Asia to ensure solution validity and business objectives.
