Job summary

OpenLight is seeking a Senior Photonics Test Engineer to design, implement, and execute wafer-level test solutions for Silicon Photonics devices and PICs. You will work with a team of experienced engineers to validate functionality, build custom test hardware, and develop automation software in C++/Java and Python.

The role is onsite in Santa Clara, CA with a hybrid work setup. A strong background in optical/electrical testing and experience with Advantest 93k are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering.
• ATE test experience, preferably on the Advantest 93k platform.
• Hands-on experience in a physics or electrical engineering lab or industry.
• Programming experience in Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom test hardware for wafer-level testing on automated wafer probers.
• Review and recommend potential equipment suppliers and write project proposals for key suppliers.
• Specify designs of custom PCBAs and probe cards to suppliers.
• Specify test algorithms to be implemented in test automation code and review results.
• Calibration of optical and RF probe cards and optimization of test throughput and accuracy.
• Operate test stations for prototype runs and hand off production testing to OSAT partners.
• Test automation software in C++ or Java, test analysis software in Python.
