Job summary

Wipro Technologies in Austin is seeking a proactive CPU silicon validation engineer to own and drive lab activities, oversee equipment, and implement upgrades for high-performance devices.

You will perform test chip validation, silicon power measurements, and in-depth performance and power analysis, developing test patterns for various tests. This role also involves data-science based workload profiling and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years in an electrical silicon lab using oscilloscopes, JTAG and power analyzers.
• Experience with Python-based automation and data analysis for test workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive Google CPU silicon activities in the Austin lab, including daily lab management and equipment oversight.

• Develop test patterns for power, yield, functionality and speed testing.
• Create data-science based methods to profile workloads for performance and power.
• Perform teardown tasks, soldering, scope work, wiring, BGA extraction and reworks.

Job Description

• Own and drive Google CPU silicon activities in the Austin laboratory facility, including daily lab management, equipment oversight, and upgrades.
• Perform test chip validation and silicon power measurements while conducting in-depth performance and power analysis.
• Develop test patterns for power analysis, yield analysis, functionality testing, and speed testing.
• Develop data science based methods to profile workloads for performance and power analysis and optimization.
• Perform Teardown devices (e.g. IFixit), soldering, scope, wiring, BGA extraction, reworks

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience working in an electrical silicon lab using oscilloscopes, JTAG and power analyzers
• Experience with Python-based automation and scripting (e.g., data analysis), Android and iOS

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, with an emphasis on computer architecture.
• Experience with iOS or Android system kernels.
• Experience with device calibration and trimming procedures.
• Experience with printed circuit board (PCB)-level mixed-signal validation or debugging on IPs (e.g., temperature sensors, current sensors, droop detectors, ADC, or Class-D amplifiers).
• Experience with PLLs, ADC, current sensors, or ring oscillators.

Mandatory Skills: Semiconductor Integration. Experience: 5-8 Years.

The expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000. Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience.
