Job summary

Silencer Central, one of America’s fastest-growing companies known for compliance and education in firearm sound suppression, is seeking a Technical Product Specialist (TPS). This role blends technical product knowledge with needs-based sales, mainly over the phone, to guide suppressor selections and related services.

You will engage customers, answer technical questions, and recommend solutions while maintaining exceptional service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree/certification preferred.
• 2+ years in a sales role, preferably within firearms industry, with proven ability to meet targets.
• Strong knowledge of firearms, suppressors, and accessories; barrel threading experience a plus. ERP/CRM proficiency.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.

Responsibilities

• Take inbound sales and technical calls, actively listening to understand customer needs.
• Provide tailored product recommendations that solve customer problems and align with the customer’s use.
• Guide customers through suppressor selection, accessories, and services with a consultative approach.
• Meet or exceed sales targets while maintaining a customer-first mindset.
• Coordinate with warranty and service teams to ensure timely resolutions.

Shift

Monday – Friday, core hours vary between 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and 1 rotating Saturday per month, with 1 weekday off during the week, T,W,Th.

The Technical Product Specialist (TPS) is a customer-focused role that blends technical expertise with needs-based sales. TPS team members engage with customers primarily over the phone, but also in person when needed, to guide product decisions, answer technical and product support inquiries, and recommend suppressors, accessories, and services that best fit their needs. This role emphasizes consultative selling—helping customers make confident purchase decisions while building trust through knowledge, clear communication, and outstanding service.

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions

• Customer Engagement through Sales and Service:
  • Take inbound sales and technical calls, actively listening to understand customer needs.
  • Provide tailored product recommendations that solve customer problems and align with their intended use.
  • Guide customers through suppressor selection, accessories, and services with a consultative, needs-based approach.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets while maintaining a customer-first mindset.
  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities that enhance customer experience and satisfaction.
• Technical Product Support
  • Provide expert advice on suppressor specifications, compatibility, and performance.
  • Support customers with technical aspects of installation, use, and maintenance.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly and confidently, positioning Silencer Central as the trusted expert.
• Address Barrel Threading Inquiries:
  • Answer questions related to barrel threading services, including compatibility and technical specifications.
  • Offer guidance on barrel threading options based on customer firearm specifications and needs.
  • Coordinate with the barrel threading service team to ensure accurate and timely service.
• Process Warranty Claims:
  • Manage and process warranty claims, ensuring a smooth experience for the customer.
  • Evaluate warranty issues to determine eligibility and appropriate resolution.
  • Work with the warranty service team to facilitate repairs, replacements, or other solutions.
• Product knowledge and Collaboration:
  • Stay up to date on Silencer Central’s product lineup and industry advancements.
  • Share customer feedback with product development teams to improve offerings.
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure consistent communication and support.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required (technical degree/certification preferred); 2+ years in a sales role, preferably within the firearms industry, with proven ability to meet or exceed targets.
• Technical Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of firearms, suppressors, and accessories required; barrel threading experience a plus. Proficient with ERP/CRM systems and technical and sales support tools.
• Work Habits:
  • Consistent attendance, punctuality, and reliability; able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Communication and Collaboration:
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; able to work independently while contributing to team, departmental, and corporate goals.
• Problem Solving and Critical Thinking:
  • Strong attention to detail; able to use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternatives, make sound decisions, and identify improvements for self, team, and operations.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting pay is $23.00 and will vary based on experience and relevant skills/knowledge. Silencer Central offers a competitive total compensation package that includes:
