Job summary

Amphenol Corporation seeks a SI Lab Technician in Santa Clara, CA to perform measurements and support the Signal Integrity Lab team. You will help with frequency and time-domain tests, operate oscilloscopes and VNA, and assist with data collection and reporting.

Expect collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and sales, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, safety, and documentation of results.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary education: 1–2 years in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
• Strong geometric, numerical, and statistical aptitude.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, PCB layouts, schematics, and block diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Signal Integrity Laboratory for the Signal Integrity Application Manager to ensure Electrical specifications of manufactured passive DUTs are met.
• Assist with frequency (S-Parameter), and time domain (TDR, BERT) measurements for new product and Sustaining Engineering and Operations.
• Assist with obtaining Electrical Measurements with a Oscilloscope, Vector Network Analyzer, and Digital Microscope.
• Assist with debugging customer systems or cable assemblies both in the lab and on the field.
• Assist with performing repeatable measurements for experiments and characterizations.
• Assist with performing repeatable cycle or stress measurements using mechanical fixtures or obtain mechanical parameters.
• Accurately record, store, and process data in Excel to create graphs and reports with PowerPoint.
• Keep track of all work and experiments performed.
• Interact as needed with Sales, Manufacturing and Engineering teams.
• Display caution around highly sensitive equipment and performs work with consistency and precision.
