Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• 3+ years in S&C maintenance with signaling experience.
• Completion of a certified railroad signal training program.
• CPKC safety rules training and medical card.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays in any weather.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Strong safety focus by following protocols.

Responsibilities

• Dig, cable repair, assemble and install signal equipment, pole line work
• Repair and/or replace damaged equipment, test and verify S&C systems and equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance on all S&C apparatus
• Perform inspections and testing as required on each device
• Report problems; failures or unsafe conditions
• Ensure there is enough material on hand to permit work or repairs
• Make authorized corrections and modifications
• Align with company regulatory rules and policies to uphold safety and operational excellence
• Other general duties can include cable locates, painting, and housekeeping of signal housing & equipment and climbing ladders
