Job summary

Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) in Valley City, North Dakota, seeks a Signal and Communications technician to install, inspect and repair Train Control and Grade Crossing Warning systems in accordance with FRA requirements.

You will troubleshoot electronic equipment, maintain inspection documentation, and provide guidance to signal crews, working outdoors in varying weather. Required high school diploma, GROL or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Post-secondary education preferred.
• Valid FCC General Radio Telephone Operators License (GROL) or equivalent such as ISCET.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, inspect, and repair Train Control Systems and Grade Crossing Warning Systems per FRA requirements.
• Diagnose and repair electronic equipment and system failures with test gear.
• Perform software-related tasks including diagnostics and event log retrieval.
