Job summary

Minnesota Department of Transportation is seeking to manage District 1’s signal systems, lighting systems, warning flashers, ITS, and Gopher State locating. The role covers scoping, designing, operating, and maintaining these critical systems to ensure safe and efficient transportation.

Minimum qualifications include three years of advanced para-engineering experience, familiarity with MnDOT manuals, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software. Some telework may be available.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of advanced para-engineering experience at the Engineering Specialist level (or equivalent).
• Experience with the Minnesota Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and related manuals.
• Experience applying traffic engineering principles and standards.
• Experience installing and inspecting sign structures and panels.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word, and sign inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Manage District 1’s signal systems, lighting systems, warning flashers, ITS, and Gopher State locating.
• Scope, design, operate, and maintain the systems across district operations.

This position exists to manage District 1’s signal systems, lighting systems, various warning flashers, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and Gopher State locating. Responsibilities include all aspects of scoping, designing, operating, and maintaining the systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

Three (3) years of advanced para-engineering experience at the Engineering Specialist level (or equivalent) that demonstrates all the following:

• Experience working with the Minnesota Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Traffic Engineering Manual, and Standard Sign and Marking Summary and Manual.
• Experience applying traffic engineering principles and standards.
• Experience installing and inspecting sign structures and sign panels.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word, and sign inventory software.

AND

• Valid Class D Driver’s License.
