Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is seeking a qualified professional to manage District 1’s signal and lighting systems, ITS components, and Gopher State locating efforts. You will scope, design, operate, and maintain these critical transportation systems across the district.

Ideal candidates have several years of para-engineering experience, familiarity with MnDOT manuals, and proficiency with MS Office and sign inventory software.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of advanced para-engineering experience at the Engineering Specialist level (or equivalent) that demonstrates all the following.
• Experience with the Minnesota Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Traffic Engineering Manual, and Standard Sign and Marking Summary and Manual.
• Experience installing and inspecting sign structures and sign panels.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word, and sign inventory software.
• Valid Class D Driver’s License.

This position exists to manage District 1’s signal systems, lighting systems, various warning flashers, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and Gopher State locating. Responsibilities include all aspects of scoping, designing, operating, and maintaining the systems.

Minimum Qualifications:
