Job summary

Broadway National is seeking an experienced Signage Estimator to join our team in the United States. You will prepare detailed cost estimates for national signage projects, review drawings, and coordinate with engineers, procurement, and account executives to define scope and ensure competitive bids.

Ideal candidates have five+ years in commercial signage estimating or related fields, strong Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple bids while upholding quality and brand standards.

  • Familiarity with sign fabrication materials and installation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates for national signage projects and RFPs.
  • Review drawings, surveys, and client requirements to define scope.
  • Capture all costs: fabrication, installation, permitting, and more.
  • Develop budgets and detailed breakdowns for clients and Project Managers.
  • Explain estimating assumptions, labor calculations, material quantities, and costing methods.
  • Manage multiple bids and meet submission deadlines.
  • Maintain estimating templates and pricing databases; negotiate with vendors.
  • Provide engineering guidance during design development and value engineering.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed, accurate estimates for national signage RFPs, active projects, capital programs, service opportunities, and account work.
  • Review architectural and engineering drawings, surveys, site photos, specifications, and client requirements to define scope.
  • Capture all project costs: fabrication, installation, permitting, engineering, freight, equipment, subcontractors, and project management.
  • Develop conceptual budgets in early planning and detailed breakdowns for Project Managers and clients.
  • Explain estimating assumptions, labor calculations, material quantities, and costing methodology.
  • Manage multiple concurrent bids and meet submission deadlines.
  • Maintain standardized estimating templates, pricing tools, and vendor pricing databases.
  • Serve as the technical authority on sign construction, fabrication methods, and structural mounting for all sign types.
  • Review shop and engineering drawings with the Art Department and fabrication partners for accuracy and constructability.
  • Provide engineering guidance during design development and recommend value engineering and fabrication improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with client brand standards, engineering requirements, ADA, UL, and applicable building and sign codes.
  • Partner with the Director of Signage and Account Executives to support sales opportunities and proposal development. Participate in client kickoff meetings as needed.
  • Support Project Managers on change orders and scope revisions; coordinate with Procurement on long lead-time materials.
  • Maintain complete estimating records: assumptions, bid summaries, pricing history, and vendor quotations — properly archived to support future projects, audits, and cost analysis.
  • Solicit competitive pricing from fabrication, installation, engineering, freight, crane, electrical, permitting, and specialty vendors. Negotiate pricing, lead times, and project costs.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
  • Continuously improve estimating tools and processes.
Job Qualifications
  • Minimum five years in commercial signage estimating, project management, engineering, or commercial construction.
  • Strong grasp of sign fabrication, construction methods, and structural engineering concepts as applied to signage.
  • Proficient at reading architectural and engineering drawings and building accurate estimates from them.
  • Working knowledge of signage materials and methods — aluminum, steel, acrylic, vinyl, welding, powder coating, LED illumination, electrical systems, freight logistics, and crane operations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel; Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Preferred: national signage programs, retail rollouts, multi-location branding, permitting processes, and ERP or project management software.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills; accountable, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
