For traffic control assignments, we highly value previous experience as a Traffic Control Technician and/or experience as a Traffic Control Supervisor.
Job Contributions
Input all work in real-time using an electronic asset management program
You will be assigned a one-ton truck and will be responsible for following all maintenance/ service requirements
Operate and maintain various hand tools and power equipment
Participate in On-Call/Standby with a required 24-hour response when requested, assisting with flooded roadway response, special signing projects, dedications, emergencies, Palo Verde drills, and other exercises
Participate in two-way radio communication with dispatch and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office
Assess and report roadway and traffic control conditions, damage, and flooding.
Working Conditions
This position requires the employee to exert up to 50-100 pounds occasionally, up to 10-25 pounds frequently, and up to 10-20 pounds constantly. Work may occur outdoors and/or from inside a vehicle. This work may require exposure to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, noises and vibrations. You may also be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and travel.
Tools and Equipment
This work involves the use of hand tools, landscape tools, post-hole diggers, augers, jackhammers, wheelbarrows, and cement. It requires the operation of a one-ton sign truck and electronic asset management software. Safety boots, a hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, and a Type II Safety Vest must be worn.
