Job summary

FASTSIGNS of West Metro, MN is hiring a full-time Sign Production Specialist. You will follow layouts, prepare substrates, weed vinyl, operate printers, and ensure quality by reviewing Work Orders.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in sign production, a high school diploma, and the ability to lift 50+ pounds, stand for long periods, and work under pressure. Compensation: $17.00–$19.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of sign production experience preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods (4+ hours).
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Ability to work under pressure to deliver high-volume, high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Follow a layout to place vinyl or full-color images on substrates.
• Prepare substrates including cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning.
• Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images.
• Operate and maintain printers.
• Perform quality checks against Work Orders and proof for errors.
• Finish pieces by laminating and mounting printed sections.
• Report inventory levels to center/production manager.

A Successful FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist Will

• Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application to include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etc
• Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl, and complexity of images
• Operate and maintain printer(s)
• Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards
• Perform finishing operations such as laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces
• Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the center manager/production manager or franchisee.
• Clean and maintain storage areas

Ideal Qualifications For FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist

• 1-2 years of experience in sign production preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (4 hours or more)
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
• Flexibility to lean over a waist‑high table and use back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate
• Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work
• Ability to use light power equipment
