Qualifications include a high school diploma, two years of higher education or an associate degree, and Florida interpreter certification or enrollment in training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of college or an associate degree or higher; or demonstrated ability to assist in instruction.
• Certification as Florida Registered Interpreter or enrollment in certification training.

Responsibilities

• Attend classes with hearing-impaired students, interpreting classroom instruction and facilitating communication.
• Facilitate communication among students, teachers, and hearing peers.
• Adapt classroom materials by signing or with visual materials.
