Job summary

Fort Wayne Community Schools is seeking an Educational Interpreter to provide voice to sign and sign to voice interpreting for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. The ideal candidate must hold an EIPA with a minimum score of 3.5 and possess skills in SEE/ASL. Responsibilities include assisting with instructional activities, supporting classroom functions, and ensuring effective communication.

This role requires flexibility, as well as the ability to relate well with students and staff. New employees must complete a probationary period to apply for posted positions.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Ability to interpret using SEE / ASL.
• Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 required.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
• Assist teachers with instructional activities.
• Help students with completing assignments and mobility needs.
